All Aristotle University students, including foreigner visitors, have equal rigths regarding their possible needs for health care. The quality and extent of care provided is defined by relative laws and determined by the socioeconomic setting of the country.

The Student Health Care Service located in the University Student Club building and the AUTH Primary Health Care Centre located in the administration building, are both providing daily basic primary care services and counselling.

The Counseling and Guidance Centre provides counseling and psychological support to students thay express relative needs.

Student Health Care Service

According to the provisions of the new law 4452/15-02-2017 (A’ 17), article 31, par. 3 “undergraduate, postgraduate students and doctoral candidates, who have no other medical and hospital care, are entitled to full medical and hospital treatment in the National Health System (NHS) with coverage of the relevant costs by the National Health Service Provision Organization (EOPYY), according to the corresponding application of article 33 of Law 4368/2016 (A’ 83)” only with the use of their  A.M.K.A., i.e. their Social Security Number.

The facilities of the Health Service of the University Student Club (Lower Club – Kato Leshi, entrance from Egnatia Street) can be visited daily during working days and hours by students in need of medical treatment. First aid, clinical examination (without the possibility of prescription), vaccinations and advice on Health Education are provided at the Medical Centers of the University Student Club.

Furthermore, in the facilities of the Health Service of the University Student Club there is a Counseling and Psychological Support Center (KE.SY.PS.Y.) staffed by psychologists, to which all students have the right to attend free of charge.

At the same time, there is also the possibility of support from psychiatrists, on specific days and times (by appointment).

European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

Uninsured students who are about to move to any country in the European Union can obtain the relevant Health Insurance Card from the Health Service Office of the University Student Club, by presenting the necessary supporting documents.
